CAT WOMAN IS BACK !!!

Batman bosses have kept fans guessing with how Anne Hathaway is going to portray Catwoman in upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises.

And now, with the first official photo of the actress in character, it seems Catwoman is going to be tougher than ever in the sequel.

While Hathaway's outfit can't really be seen, it appears the 28-year-old actress is wearing a black leather catsuit, with a zip up the front, teamed with a pair of black goggles and lashings of red lipstick.

Very little information has been revealed about the storyline of the new film, in which Hathaway stars as Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman.

However, a source recently told Hollywoodlife.com of Anne's Catwoman costume: 'Anne's outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies.

'She will definitely be wearing the goggles, and it's going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman costumes. She's going to look more like a robber.'

Hathaway was yesterday spotted on the set of the new film, showing off her legs in a pair of tiny black shorts.

Anne, who was wearing heavy make-up, chatted with a member of the production staff while she stretched her legs during a spot of down time.

It looks like the Oscars hostess has been working hard to get in shape for the final part of Christopher Nolan's hit trilogy.

A source told the Mail: 'Anne is working out five days a week. She's taking it very seriously and wants her body in tip-top condition.

'Secretly she hopes to upstage Halle Berry, who last played Catwoman. She's doing dance classes, weight-training and cardio - she wants to be the sexiest Catwoman ever.'

And it has paid off as she looked lithe and supple, with not a single trace of fat on show as she enjoyed the fresh air in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania today.

But she was not the only glamorous lady strutting her stuff during another day of hectic shooting.

Marion Cotillard was also looking splendid, although unfortunately she was more covered up in a costume that made up of trousers and wine-coloured jacket.

She is playing Miranda Tate in the film, an ally of Bruce Wayne's who works on the board of his company.

Although the ladies on set provided the glamour, it was the stunt doubles who generated the excitement.

One was seen shooting down a set of stairs in a exotically-designed motorbike during one of the more thrilling moments of the day.

The Dark Knight Rises also stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine and is set to be released in July 2012.

Superman: Henry Cavill, 28, Jersey

It seems the Jersey boy was always destined to become a superhero. Back in 2009, the former Tudors star was due to star as Superman in a version of the story from Terminator Salvation director McG. However, after filmmaker Bryan Singer stepped in, Cavill got dropped from the project, which eventually became the 2006 film Superman Returns. He was also due to play Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, before losing out to Robert Pattinson.

Spider-Man: Andrew Garfield, 27, Surrey

Andrew Garfield epitomises geek chic, with his floppy quiff meets still-doing-GSCEs vibe. The BAFTA-winner gained notoriety after winning the award for his efforts in television drama Boy A. He’s more suited to his Peter Parker alter ego, but that didn’t stop him getting the girl in real life. The webslinger is now said to be dating co-star Emma Stone who plays onscreen love Mary Jane.

Batman: Christian Bale, 37, Pembrokeshire

He’s been acting pretty much since he came out the womb, so he was bound to land a hero role at some point. But bad boy Christian Bale usually plays the villain, making his mark on the Hollywood map with his portrayal of Patrick Bateman in American Pyscho. He bulked up to play billionaire Bruce Wayne, scoffing on pizza and fast food before the director agreed to cast him.

What next? Rupert Grint as Flash Gordon.
